Australasian Guidelines for testing of Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies have recommended that controls optimally be placed on every microscope slide. The current technology available for the production of these Neutrophil slides can deposit two wells per slide. However it is necessary to run three types of controls in every assay, called 'cytoplasmic, perinuclear and negative' controls'. This means that the optimal guidelines cannot be met.
There are several different principles of Cellablock which are the subject of the patent application.
The Cellablock™ slides offers the Routine or Research laboratory reliably prepared ANCA multi-well microscope slides. Nuetrophils are deposited onto the 10 wells available under centrifugation. This centrifugation is important as it allows for excellent presentation of cellular substrates with the cells presented in a monolayer the density of which is controllable by the concentration used.
